- 1637 VEHICLES IMPOUNDED AND 1084 PEOPLE HAVE BEEN ARRESTED FOR VIOLATING NORMS
Jalandhar, May 21 ( wishavwarta ) -The Jalandhar Police Commissionerate has issued 21601 challans to the violators of the traffic norms and impounded 1637 vehicles ever since March 23rd .
Divulging the details the Commissioner of Police Jalandhar Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that along with these 21601 challans as many as 1637 vehicles have been impounded by the Police. Mr. Bhullar said that 890 FIRs including 336 against those without mask have been registered adding that 1084 people have been arrested for flouting norms. He said that this drive would continue in the district in the coming days too and the violators of the norms would not be spared.
The Commissioner further said that today 10 FIR against violators of norms and 10 people have been arrested. Mr. Bhullar said that today a total of 355 challans were issued to defaulters for traffic violation and 16 vehicles were impounded. He said that strict action was being initiated against the people loitering around without any reason during the lockdown.
