Chandigarh: President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) and Member of Parliament from Gurdaspur, Sunil Jakhar, has asked Sukhbir Badal to accept his mistakes in front of the Sangat before heading towards the Akal Takht to apologise.
Let the people know for what Sukhbir intends to express regret, said Jakhar.
Raising a series of questions on SAD president Sukhbir Badal’s decision to apologise, Jakhar said the people of Punjab wanted to know whether the junior Badal is going to apologise for the sacrilege incidents of Sri Guru Granth Sahib or about the firing incident in Bargari, where two Sikh youth were killed.
Jakhar further questioned whether Sukhbir is planning to apologise for the meeting with the Sirsa Dera head in Mumbai and the compromise reached with Gurmeet Ram Rahim for the release of his movie, or for the unconditional pardon given to the Dera Head.
Questioning further, Jakhar asked whether Sukhbir wanted to apologise for backstabbing the Panth by entering into agreements with Dera Head or would apologise for appointing as SGPC head a person who had been seeking votes from the dera.
Jakhar alleged that one generation had slipped into darkness due to the rampant prevalence of drugs during the past ten year tenure of the SAD in Punjab, and asked whether Sukhbir would apologise for this also ?
Sunil Jakhar also stated that the Captain Amarinder Singh led Congress government had not only solved the cases of sacrilege but had paved the way for punishment, under the law, for the people responsible for doing wrong. He also stated that the Punjab Government has initiated an a. extensive campaign against drugs and is also consistently working for the farmer’s debt relief scheme.
