CHANDIGARH, JUNE 6( Wishavwarta)- Giving further impetus to resumed economic activity in Punjab migrant workers on Saturday returned to state, most of whom had gone to be with their families during the lockdown.
The migrants, on arrival, were welcomed by the Industries Minister Sunder Sham Arora at Hoshiarpur who assured them of fullest government assistance in resuming their work and livelihood.
They all are strong pillars of our economic stability and have always contributed towards progress of Punjab, which is their own state as well as they live here, said Arora. Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab Government had provided every facility including food and shelter and had arranged for trains when they wanted to go back to their home states, the Minister said adding on their return we are ensuring proper medical check-up for them for any infection clearing which next process would be allowed.
Assuring them of all help in providing them work opportunities, the Minister also asked them to bring into his notice any problem faced by them which will be immediately resolved.
The migrants belong to village Kishanganj and adjoining areas of Bihar, and have been currently undergoing testing at Civil Hospital Hoshiarpur, the spokesperson of Industries Department said. They are also been reinforced about various health and social distancing guidelines which they are required to follow like wearing of masks and maintaining distance while at work, the spokesperson added.
