Chandigarh: Releasing important resolutions adopted by the legislature wings of AAP-LIP, LoP Khaira stated the AAP-LIP MLA’s met today at Chandigarh, to chalk out the floor strategy for the ensuing Vidhan Sabha session, besides discussing the current political scenario of Punjab.
AAP-LIP MLA’s urged the Captain Amarinder Singh government to review it’s anti farmer stand over the SAP of sugarcane. The MLA’s demanded that the SAP of sugarcane be increased to Rs. 330 per quintal, at par with the price fixed by Haryana. The resolution accused the Congress government of succumbing to the powerful political private sugar mills lobby thus denying the farmers a fair price.
The meeting severely condemned the proposal to rename Dyal Singh Majithia Evening College to Vande Matram Maha Vidyalaya. MLA’s opined that it was an attempt to erase the identity of Punjabi’s and Sikhs by the fascist BJP government.
AAP-LIP MLA’s accused the Captain government for succumbing to the political mining mafia by denying justice to T.S.Sekhon GM Mining Patiala, who dared to stop illegal mining in Ghaggar by the cronies of Congress MLA Madan Lal Jalalpur. The meeting urged the government to immediately arrest Congress goons, suspend the said SHO and register illegal mining case against the erring MLA.
AAP-LIP MLA’s warned the government for its backdoor attempts to re-trench 54,000 Anganwari’s workers, on the pretext of their merger in Pre-Nursery schools. They said instead of providing jobs the government was snatching the livelihood of thousands of poor families.
AAP-LIP MLA’s urged the government not to shut down the state owned thermal plants of Bathinda and Ropar. They said the central government had just spent Rs. 750 crore to renovate the Guru Nanak Dev Thermal Plant of Bathinda, which can now produce cheap power till 2025. They accused Captain of going back on his electoral promise of reviewing PPA with private power companies.
AAP-LIP MLA’s reiterated their demand for a fair and impartial inquiry into the arrest of Jaggi Johal, the UK national. The MLA’s said that they were of the view that he is being falsely framed by the Punjab Police to cover up its failure on the law and order front. They said that the reputation of Punjab Police is doubtful and it is known for repression, torture and fake encounters.
The meeting condemned any attempt by the state government to close down 800 Primary Schools, they termed it a retrograde step of the government.
Last but not the least the MLA’s strongly condemned the witch hunt and vindictive attitude of all the three traditional parties i.e. Congress-SAD-BJP, in attacking LoP Khaira. They said that the leaders of these parties particularly Sukhbir Badal and his cronies are badly rattled by the stiff opposition being provided by LoP on their corrupt misdeeds. They chided the junior Badal to first see within self that he is out on bail in a attempt to murder u/s 307 case, while his aunty Bibi Jagir Kaur has been sentenced to 5 years jail by a CBI court, therefore they cannot speak about morality and ethics in politics. It appears that the junior Badal and his gang are completely mentally bankrupt on issues facing Punjab and are only targeting Khaira out of personal hatred, said the MLA’s.
The MLA’s challenged the junior Badal to come and have an open debate with their LoP Khaira, on his own mouthpiece PTC channel anytime and any day.
