ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ ੩ ॥
ਸਲੋਕ ਤੀਜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
Shalok, Third Mehl:
ਆਸਾ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਕੋਇ ਨਿਰਾਸਾ ਹੋਇ ॥
ਸਾਰੇ ਖਾਹਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਖਚਤ ਹੋਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਜਣਾ ਹੀ ਖਾਹਿਸ਼ ਰਹਿਤ ਹੈ।
Everyone is filled with hope; hardly anyone is free of hope.
ਨਾਨਕ ਜੋ ਮਰਿ ਜੀਵਿਆ ਸਹਿਲਾ ਆਇਆ ਸੋਇ ॥੧॥
ਨਾਨਕ, ਸਫਲ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਆਗਮਨ, ਜੋ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਮਰਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, blessed is the birth of one, who remains dead while yet alive. ||1||
ਮਃ ੩ ॥
ਤੀਜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
Third Mehl:
ਨਾ ਕਿਛੁ ਆਸਾ ਹਥਿ ਹੈ ਕੇਉ ਨਿਰਾਸਾ ਹੋਇ ॥
ਉਮੈਦ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁੱਝ ਨਹੀਂ। ਇਨਸਾਨ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੇ ਉਮੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
Nothing is in the hands of hope. How can one become free of hope?
ਕਿਆ ਕਰੇ ਏਹ ਬਪੁੜੀ ਜਾਂ ਭਦ਼ਲਾਏ ਸੋਇ ॥੨॥
ਇਹ ਵਿਚਾਰੀ ਕੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਦ ਉਹ ਹਰੀ ਆਪ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ?
What can this poor being do? The Lord Himself creates confusion. ||2||

Pauree:
ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਜੀਵਣੁ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ॥
ਧਿਰਕਾਰ ਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਇਸ ਜਹਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ, ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ।
Cursed is the life in this world, without the True Name.
ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਏਹੁ ਧਨੁ ॥
ਦਾਨੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਦਾਨੀ ਹੈ ਮੈਡਾਂ ਮਾਲਕ। ਸਦੀਵੀ ਸਥਿਰ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਦੌਲਤ।
God is the Great Giver of givers. His wealth is permanent and unchanging.
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਆਰਾਧੇ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਸੋਇ ਜਨੁ ॥
ਜੋ ਹਰ ਸੁਆਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪੁਰਸ਼।
That humble being is immaculate, who worships the Lord with each and every breath.
ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਅਗਮੁ ਰਸਨਾ ਏਕੁ ਭਨੁ ॥
ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਤੂੰ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜਾਨਣਹਾਰ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਇੱਕ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰ।
With your tongue, vibrate the One Inaccessible Lord, the Inner knower, the Searcher of hearts.
ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਰਬਤਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈ ॥੨੦॥
ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾਨਕ ਉਸ ਉਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਵੰਝਦਾ ਹੈ।
He is all pervading everywhere. Nanak is a sacrifice to Him. ||20||

ਗੱਜ-ਵੱਜ ਕੇ ਫਤਹਿ ਬੁਲਾਓ ਜੀ !
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ !!
