Bengaluru: Five people got killed and many injured after heavy rain hit Bengaluru on Friday. The city has been thumped by heavy rain from past few weeks. Heavy rain in the west and southwestern parts of the city resulted in severe waterlogging and traffic jams on the road.Chief Minister has asked the administration to release compensation of Rs. 5 lakh for the family of victims, the search operation is continued by fire and emergency officers to rescue people in the city.
The city received nearly 3cm of rain, according to the Met department, while the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Management Centre (KSNDMC) said that parts of the city may have received up to 8cm.
