… slams Sirsa for pedalling lies to gain political mileage when country was battling corona
… says government has written to Lt Governor seeking action against SHO concerned.
Chandigarh, April 4( Wishavwarta)-Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) state President and Member of Parliament (MP) Bhagwant Mann, has out-rightly rejected the charge of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) chief Manjinder Singh Sirsa, in connection with the filing of an FIR against the managing committee of Gurdwara Sri Majnu Ka Tilla in Delhi by Delhi Police, saying the allegations leveled against the Kejriwal government were totally false, frivolous and politically motivated.
In a statement issued from party headquarters on Saturday, Bhagwant Mann made it categorically clear that the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government had nothing to do with the FIR filed against the managing committee, allegedly on the charge of assembly of large gathering at the Gurdwara Sri Majnu Ka Tilla premises, adding the Delhi Police was directly under the Union Home Ministry, headed by Amit Shah.
Mann, going live on social media, said that he did not want to make any political statement at such a critical juncture when the entire humanity was waging a fierce battle against coronavirus, adding that it was a time when, instead of extending a helping hand to the needy, Sirsa was indulging in spreading rumours about the ultimate truth and levelling serious allegations against the Delhi government, and that a befitting reply was inevitable.
Mann, on the occasion, informed that the Delhi government had written to the Lt Governor, recommending suspension of the station house officer (SHO) concerned for allegedly filing an FIR on the managing committee of Gurdwara Sri Majnu Ka Tilla.
Mann said that Manjinder Singh Sirsa had been pedalling lies about the Kejriwal government, which had announced a financial ‘cover’ worth Rs one crore for those fighting the big battle against coronavirus from ground zero, including doctors, nurses, para-medical, police personnel and sanitation staff, besides providing food to more than one million people on a daily basis and shelters to the needy holed up in the national capital.
The AAP MP said that Sirsa and his party had, on earlier occasion, had accused the Kejriwal government of demolishing the historic Ravidas temple in Delhi, alleging that it was done at the behest of the BJP government at the centre, as Delhi Police, DDA and MCD were under its direct control.
