Gurdaspur, 11 October(Wishav Warta): The process of voting held with peace in the Gurdaspur Lok Sabha constituency. Today 56% voting was recorded which is lower than the previous polling.
Disclosing this, the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, V.K. Singh said that owing to the cooperation of district administration and political parties, the bye poll process has remained peaceful. He also said that the model code of conduct came into force with the announcement of bye-poll to the Gurdaspur Lok Sabha constituency and during this period the commission received 58 complaints which were disposed off. Today on the eve of voting a total of 4 complaints were received. He further said that Dera baba Nanak Vidhan Sabha constituency registered maximum voting percentage which stood at 65 percent while the Batala Vidhan Sabha constituency accounted for minimum voting percentage which stood at 50 percent.
