Chandigarh: Paramjit Singh Kainth, President National Scheduled Castes Alliance today slammed the anti-Scheduled Castes stance of the present Capt. Amrinder Singh led Congress Government in Punjab In a meeting held in Chandigarh. Discussing over the recent atrocities and oppression faced by the scheduled castes community, Paramjit Singh Kainth said “the Congress government has had an atrocious state of affairs. It’s been a trend which seems to never end, where the SC’s are wooed during the Election for their crucial votes by fake promises of development and socio-economic justice but in reality these parties are more like the enemy rather the friend of the scheduled castes community.”
This social segregation of the Scheduled Castes in Punjab deliberately done by the Government has been clearly evident from the recent incidents like the ‘Rape case of Faridkot where a SC teacher accused the Chairman of the local Adarsh Schools’ and also ‘Murder of a Scheduled Castes person in relation to Shamlat Land dispute in Sangrur’. None of these cases have been taken seriously by the police which is directly under the control of the State Government. Kainth further said, “Just like the previous SAD-BJP govt, the Congress government is deliverately trying to suppress the Scheduled Castes community and protecting the rich and powerful. The Home Ministry is under Capt. Amrinder Singh, the CM and it’s a shame that incidents like these are not dealt with proper caution and justice is provided as soon as possible. It proves the inability of the Government to control the law & order in the State.”
He said “Other parties like the Aam Aadmi Party and the SAD-BJP combine have only played with the emotions and dreams of the Scheduled Castes community. The MLA’s and MP’s in these parties and even in the Congress are just mere puppets in the hands of the Political Parties they are affiliated with. The greed of getting an election seat from the Party, these Politicians ignore the very own community they belong to.”
“To ignite the Social Responsibility within these Politicians, National Scheduled Castes Alliance is planning to launch a Social Responsibility Campaign in the coming days. The MLA’s and MP’s along with other leaders of the Scheduled Castes community will be held accountable for their current greedy actions and their disregard for providing justice and welfare to the Community.” Said Paramjit Singh Kainth.
“There comes a time when the pressure inside a volcano makes the lava burst out and just like that analogy, the moment will come soon when the Scheduled Castes community will get tired of these atrocities and the disappointment with the community for these leaders will be openly expressed on the streets and every corner of the society. The government should wake up and act for the benefit of the Scheduled Castes before its real face is exposed.”
