Chandigarh: Former Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh will reach Punjab University on Wednesday. He will give a lecture on ‘70 Years of Independence: Strengthening Roots of Democracy’, at the law auditorium on the campus.
Dr Manmohan Singh would visit the Department of Economics and a site at Guru Teg Bahadur Hall where his donated books, numbering around 3,500, would be displayed.
He is not only a former student of the university but a former faculty member of the PU also. He is holding Jawaharlal Nehru Chair in the university. On Wednesday, he would return for a lecture after 52 years. It would be the first Prof SB Rangnekar Memorial Lecture.
