Jalandhar, 30 September(Wishav Warta): Jalandhar rural police make a breakthrough on Saturday as they have arrested five gangsters of Gurpreet Singh Sekhon and Chanpreet Singh Channa led gang. Gurpreet Singh Sekhon was the mastermind behind Nabha jailbreak. The arrested gangsters were hatching a conspiracy to flee gangster Ramandeep Singh Rummy from Bathinda jail. Accused were identified as Kala Singh resident of village Gumti Kalan, Bathinda, Jaswinder Singh Kabbadi, village Meripur, Kapurthala, Daljit Singh, village Kothaguru, Bathinda, Bhupinder Singh, village Meripur, Kapurthala, Jaspreet Singh Jassa, village Padhian, Adampur and heavy amount of arms and ammunition was also recovered from their possession.
Divulging details IGP Zone-2, Jalandhar, Arpit Shukla said Jalandhar police have achieved major success today police team have arrested 5 gangsters of Gurpreet Sekhon and Channa gangs from village Chak Kalan, Nakodar. One pistol 7.65 bore along with five cartridges, One pistole 315 bore along with three cartridges, one 12 bore DBBL gun along with 10 cartridges and one car was recovered. The gang was specialized in looting luxury cars at highway and committing robberies.
SSP, Jalandhar(Rural) Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said few days ago two gangsters open fire at police party on a Naka and later they were nabbed by police, during the investigation, they revealed about them as they were also part of the conspiracy. Preliminary investigation reveals accused Kabaddi came in contact with Gurpreet Sekhon in Kapurthala jail, They were planning to liberate dreaded gangster Ramandeep Singh (Rummy Mashana) from Bathinda Jail. Rummy has 28 cases registered against him in different states which include cases of murder and attempt to murder. The plan was to release rummy from police custody by attacking police party when they will be taking him for hearing to the court. Three attempts were made but they failed, he said.
