Patiala: Former vigilance bureau (VB) senior superintendent of police (SSP) Shiv Kumar Sharma has been once again booked by police in the case for implicating patwari Mohan Singh a graft case. He has been made accused in the case by Ferozepur police.
The controversial Former VB officer has questioned Captain Amarinder Singh in a disproportionate assets case ealier.
Ferozepur police raided his residence in Ludhiana and a farmhouse in Rurki village in Patiala after booking him, but found him missing.
Earlier in 2012, he was booked in the case registered at Mallanwala, but was given clean chit in 2013. Three other formers SSP’s Surinderpal Singh Virk, Jaspal Singh and SS Grewal who also got the clean chit in 2013 have again been named accused in the case.
Sharma and other police officers were given clean chit by an SP rank official, who were booked after an inquiry conducted by the then principal secretary to CM. After coming back to power Congress government ordered a fresh inquiry on an application submitted by Mohan Singh.
The fresh probe found that there was no basis to give the clean chit to these officials, so the Ferozepur IG Gurwinder Singh Dhillon, who conducted the inquiry recommended action against the earlier inquiry officer Raghbir Singh Sandhu.
What is the Case
As per information, Sharma asked patwari Mohan Singh, on November 2009, to provide him with the revenue record of his land in Rurki village of Fatehgarh Sahib. Mohan Singh delivered a copy of the record to the officer and asked for government fee of Rs 20. The SSP refused to give him money and later booked patwari in a graft case and tortured and stripped him during interrogation.
