ECI appoints ROs & AROs for enroling new voters

Jalandhar: The Election Commission of India has appointed Registration Officers (ROs) and Assistant Registration officers (AROs) for enrolling new voters, above age of 18 years as on January 1, 2018, in all the assembly segments of Jalandhar.

Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar cum District Election Officer Varinder Kumar Sharma as per the orders of ECI Sub Divisional Magistrate Varinder Pal Singh Bajwa has been appointed as RO for assembly segment Phillaur whereas Tehsildar Tapan Bhanot and BDPO Jinderpal Singh would be the AROs I & II for the constituency. Likewise, SDM Nakodar Amrit Singh would be the RO for Nakodar assembly segment whereas Tehsildar Bhupinder Singh and BDPO Harbilas would be the ARO I&II. For Shahkot assembly segment SDM Navneet Kaur Bal would be the RO whereas Tehsildar Mandeep Singh Mann and BDPO Bhupinder Singh would be the ARO I&II.

For Kartarpur assembly segment SDM Paramvir Singh would be the Ro whereas Tehsildar Harminder Singh and Naib Tehsildar Manohar Lal would be the ARO I &II. For Jalandhar west assembly Chief Administrator JDA Vishesh Sarangal would be RO whereas AETC Hardeep Bhanwra and Chief Agriculture Officer BS Cheena would be the ARO I & II. In Jalandhar Central assembly segment SDM Rajeev Verma would be the RO whereas Tehsildar Karandeep Singh Bhullar and Naib Tehsildar Gurpreet Singh would be ARO I&II.

Similarly, Jalandhar North assembly segment Deputy Director Local Government Sanjeev Verma would be the RO whereas District Revenue Officer PS Sahota and Secretary Zila Parishad Dharam Pal would be the ARO I&II. In Jalandhar Cantt Secretary RTA Darbara Singh would be the RO and District Development and Panchayat Officer Iqbal Singh Sahota and BDPO Bawa Singh would be the ARO I&II. For Adampur assembly segment Joint Commissioner MC Shikha Bhagat would be the RO while Corporation Engineer Lakhwinder Singh an BDPO Ms. Dhara Kakkar would be the ARO I&II.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner said that any person of the age 18 years or above as on January 1, 2018 but who has not been enrolled as an elector, could become a voter by filling form no. 6 on www.nvsp.in. He said that the applicant just has to upload his coloured photograph along with proof of date of birth and proof of residence. Sharma said that likewise the voter could submit his form to BLO or in the office of concerned RO and ARO.
