Dr Ajay Sharma appointed V-C of PTU

Jalandhar: Dr. Ajay Sharma has been appointed as vice chancellor of Inder Kumar Gujral Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar. He was director of National Institute of Technology, Delhi. Sharma acquired his BE in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering from Panjab University, Chandigarh, in 1986, MS in Electronics and Control from Birla Institute of Technology (BITS), Pilani, in 1994 and PhD in Electronics Communication and Computer Engineering in 1999. He has also served in Jalandhar as Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in 1996 at National Institute of Technology (erstwhile Regional Engineering College) Jalandhar. From November 2001, he worked as Professor in the ECE department and thereafter he worked as Professor in Computer Science and Engineering from 2007 to 2013 in the same institute.
