Diwali gift for traders by Punjab Government-clears refund of Rs. 100 crore

Jalandhar, 12 October(Wishav Warta): Giving a Diwali gift to the traders in Punjab, The state Government has started the process to dispose of refund cases by which the traders would get about Rs. 100 crore as refund.

Divulging the details AETC Jalandhar Parmjit Singh revealed that out of this total Rs. 100 Crore Punjab government has released Rs. 2 Crore for Excise Circle Jalandhar-1 and Rs. 9 Crore for Jalandhar-2. He informed that these funds would be given to the traders before Diwali.

He also said that the trades of Sugar, Fertilizers, Pesticides and Clothes whose annual sale is more than Rs. 20 Lakh should get their registration under GST  as it is necessary under this new regime. AETC said that before implementation of GST these traders were out of the ambit of VAT but now these trade fields are under GST. He said that the traders who have not get their registration done so far must get it done on GST Portal as per the stipulated rules.
