Jalandhar, 3 October(Wishav Warta): Complementing the officers / officials for successful implementation of the ‘Swachta Hi Sewa’ national sanitation campaign in the district, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma the centre idea of campaign needs to be replicated for carving out a clean and green city.
The Deputy Commissioner said that this fortnight long campaign, aimed at creating clean and hygienic India as envisioned by Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi, has generated a lot of awareness amongst the people regarding the importance of clean and green surroundings. He said that this routine needs to be followed in the daily routine life so that people could live in a hygienic and healthy environment. Sharma asked the officers/ officials to make more such sustainable efforts to ensure that our environment was clean, green and pollution free.
The Deputy Commissioner said that this campaign was aimed at sensitizing the people towards need for a clean and green today besides a healthy and prosperous tomorrow. He said that the best performing officers from the various departments of the district administration would be soon felicitated for making this campaign a huge success.
