Jalandhar(Wishav Warta): Underlining the need to educate the people about the importance of early diagnose of the fatal diseases, the Deputy CommissionerJalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma today said that this would help in their timely treatment at an early stage.
Addressing the gathering after inaugurating a medical camp organized by Red Cross Welfare Society here today, the Deputy Commissioner, accompanied by his wife Praveen Sharma, said that due to lack of awareness there was a general trend amongst the people especially in rural sector to ignore the health related problems that leads them to a miserable condition. Sharma called upon the Doctors, NRIs and NGOs to launch a massive awareness drive along with the administration through the mass media for educating people about various symptoms of dreaded diseases to save precious lives by ensuring in time proper health care.
Lauding the organizers for holding the Medical camp, the Deputy Commissioner said that the medical camps act as a catalyst to facilitate the people for availing quality Health care facilities under one roof, that too without any cost. Sharma said that such initiatives immensely benefit the weaker and underprivileged strata of the society, which gets quality health services at their door steps. He said that such camps help in timely detection of diseases amongst the patients thereby paving way for their treatment.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the presence of eminent Doctors and people in this camp reflects the consensus amongst the people to fight against the menace of diseases for building a strong and progressive India. Sharma said that also had detailed interaction with the people who had came to the camp.
