Chandigarh October 13: The Punjab cooperative Department today organized a three days exhibition of rural products prepared by the Self Help Groups (SHGs) under Mai Bhago Istri Sashktikarn Scheme here at Lala Lajpat Rai Bhawan.
This exhibition-cum-sale was inaugurated by NABARD General Manager J.P.S. Bindra which was organised by Punjab Cooperative Department in association with NABARD, Markfed and Punjab Agro Industries. As many as 28 SHGs from various districts of Punjab have displayed and offered their products for sale in this exhibition in which citizens from Tricity are showing their keen interest to buy the rural products.
The Spokesman of the Co-operative department said the cooperative department would give priority to promote and marketing of house hold items prepared by these groups in the state. He said this exhibition-cum-sale will continue till Sunday 15 October, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. On the occasion the representatives of SHGs informed that they are indeed grateful to Co-operative Department, Markfed and Punjab Agro for providing this opportunity to get connected with the customers of Tricity during the festive season.
