CM greets people on Diwali, Calls for Eco-Friendly celebration

Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has greeted people on Diwali with the hope that it would be the harbinger of progress and prosperity for one and all.

In his Diwali eve message, the Chief Minister exhorted the people to celebrate the festival of lights in an eco-friendly manner, without damaging the environment in any way.

Let us also, on this auspicious occasion, remember those tens of thousands of our soldiers who protect our borders day and night to enable us to enjoy our festivities in peace, the Chief Minister said. He also urged the people to spare a thought for the poor who could not afford to revel in such celebrations and hoped that this Diwali would wipe out the darkness in their lives.
