CM Capt. Amarinder dedicates second phase of Jang-e-Azadi memorial

Jalandhar: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Tuesday dedicates the second phase of the Jang-e-Azadi memorial to the country at Kartarpur. While addressing the gathering at Kartarpur, CM said that we are lining up the third phase of Jang-E-Azadi with the total expenditure of Rs 25 Cr. He said “I will make sure that government will provide tour guidance for school children so that they could know about the martyrdom of Punjab in the Indian struggle for freedom.

While elaborating about the second phase Captain said that six galleries including 100 years of freedom struggle archives and photographs are dedicated to the public spending Rs 9.40 Cr. Regarding an importance of this ‘Yaadgar’ CM recalled his visit to Andaman-Nicobar visit. “I was ashamed to know the fact that I did not know the names of our freedom fighters written on the walls of Andaman jail which is also known as ‘Kale Pani’. This is important for us to know about our forefathers and how they suffered to claim freedom.

Chairman of Jang-e-Azadi memorial trust and Editor-in-Chief of daily Ajit Barjinder Singh Hamdard, PPCC president and Gurdaspur MP Sunil Jakhar, Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab Bharatinder Singh Chahal, ex-Governor Dr Iqbal Singh other personalities were present.
