Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has taken over the charge of Power and Irrigation portfolios, which was previously held by former cabinet minister Rana Gurjit Singh.
Rana Gurjit resigned from the state cabinet recently over the sand mining row. Later resignation was accepted by the CM and necessity arose after that to give charge of these portfolios.
The government has issued a notification about the re-allocation of portfolios following approval of the Governor.
As per the notification, the CM will hold portfolios of General Administration, Personnel, Home Affairs and Justice, Vigilance, Water Resources, Power and all other departments not assigned to any minister.
There will be no change in the portfolios of all other cabinet ministers.
