Chandigarh: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau may not meet Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh during his visit to the state. Canadian PM is set to visit Punjab, along with other members of the Canadian cabinet, in few days. But, according to the report he would not be meeting with the Captain Amarinder Singh.
However, there are reports that Punjab CM will receive Canadian PM in Amritsar, but officials in the Prime Minister’s Office say no meeting is planned between Captain and Trudeau.
Earlier Captain Amarinder Singh has said that he had no problem meeting Trudeau, but there are some ministers in his cabinet who he would not like to meet because they “have negative views regarding Punjab”. “I don’t have any problem in meeting the Canadian Prime minister. I welcome him in Punjab,” Amarinder said and added, “There are two-three ministers in his cabinet whom I would not be meeting.” Amarinder also claimed that he had not yet received Trudeau’s tour details.
