Chandigarh(Wishav Warta): Brahm Mohindra, Medical Education and Research Minister, Punjab had ordered a fact finding inquiry into the unfortunate death of a patient at Government T.B. Hospital, Amritsar due to reported lack of oxygen. The above fact finding inquiry was entrusted to Dr. Tejbir Singh, Principal, Government Medical College, Amritsar and Dr. Ram Sarup Sharma, Medical Superintendent, Guru Nanak Dev Hospital, Amritsar. Both the inquiry officers visited the spot and conducted a thorough probe by recording statements of Deputy Medical Superintendent (in-charge of TB Hospital, Amritsar), Professor who was Unit in-charge as well as the Medical and Para Medical staff on duty. The inquiry report was ordered to be submitted within 24 hours and has been received today i.e. 18.10.2017 late in the evening. The same is being examined from all perspectives.
The Minister announced that no guilty person shall be spared and strict action shall be taken against the delinquent persons for this serious lapse. The role of the supplier of Oxygen is also under a lens and punitive action shall also be taken against him if found guilty.
