Ludhiana: The most populous city of Punjab witnesses third shooting incident in just four days as An architect was shot dead in broad daylight in Dugri area in Ludhiana here on Thursday.
The motorcycle-borne assailants escaped after the attack. The deceased Pardeep Bansal, a local architect, was rushed to DMC Hospital where he was declared brought dead.
The incident took place in the morning when a motorcycle-borne attacker, whose image was captured in the CCTV camera, was seen escaping from the spot after firing at the victim.
Commissioner of Police (CP), Sukhchain Singh Gill reached the spot along with other senior police officers. Police are yet to establish the motive behind the attack.
A couple of days back, a police constable on duty outside DMC Hospital was shot in leg. After that a day ago two workers of a private cash collection agency were shot in legs near Radisson hotel on Ferozepur road by two motorcycle-borne, who escaped after looting Rs 10 lakh cash from the victims.
