Jalandhar, July 7(wishavwarta):- Under ‘Mission Fateh’ program of the state government to sensitizing the people to clean the water storage tanks, coolers and waste containers daily, the health department on Tuesday carried out a drive against vector-borne diseases in various areas of the Jalandhar.
The teams of the anti-larva cell of the health department led by Epidemiologist Dr Satish Kumar detected dengue larva at four places.
The members of the anti-larva cell including Mr Sumit, Mr Amit Kumar, Mr Pawan Kumar, Mr Sarwan Singh, Mr Sher Singh, Mr Shakti Gopal, Mr Raj Kumar, Mr Ram Milan and others inspected Kabir Nagar, Chhoti Baradari, NIT and adjoining areas. All four larva cases were found in Kabir Nagar.
During the checking, the teams visited 114 houses and checked 46 air coolers and 208 waste containers.
Dr Satish Kumar said the teams’ members apprised the people that these places could act as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes to spread diseases like dengue, malaria and others so these must be cleaned regularly.
He added that the drive was aimed at identifying vulnerable places for producing the larva of mosquitoes
