Jalandhar, July 23 (wishavwarta):– In its drive to sensitize the people about cleanliness of surroundings, preventing stagnation of water, empty the water storage tanks, coolers and waste containers daily under ‘Mission Fateh’ program, the health department on Thursday conducted the drive against vector-borne diseases in various parts of the city.
The members of the anti-larva cell including Mr Raj Kumar, Mr David Masih, Mr Davinder Kumar, Mr Shakti Gopal, Mr Varinder, Mr Sushil, Mr Vinod, Mr Amarjeet, and Mr Ram Milan inspected Deep Nagar, Gopal Nagar, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Colony, Madrasi Mohalla, Tej Mohan Nagar and others.
Four cases were detected in Gopal Nagar, Three in Tej Mohan Nagar, two in each Madrasi Mohalla and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Colony.
During the checking, the teams visited 322 houses and checked 92 air coolers and 439 waste containers.
District Epidemiologist Dr Satish Kumar told that the teams sensitized the people that these places could act as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes to spread diseases like dengue, malaria and others so these must be cleaned regularly.
