Gurdaspur, 7 October(Wishav Warta): The fate of the by-election to the Gurdaspur Parliamentary constituency will be decided by the Sehajdhari Sikhs as there are approximately 4.5 lakh Sehajdharis in the constituency and this is going to be big challenge for the BJP and the Modi led National Democratic Alliance which is dreaming for its mission 2019 for a repeat said Dr.P.S.Ranu National President of the Sehajdhari Sikh Party. This seat is going to be of the Congress with hard efforts of Captain Amarinder Singh and Congress leadership of Punjab collectively. This victory of Jakhar will setup a mile stone for the Congress in the Country at the Centre for 2019 and Captain Amarinder can be the best face of choice for candidate of Prime Minister to rejuvenate Congress in the Country claimed the Sehajdhari Sikh Party.
Dr.Ranu said that the Sehajdhari Sikh Party has always supported the Congress Party and now in the by-election of Gurdaspur the Sehajdharis had extended their unconditional support to the Congress nominee Sunil Jakkhar. Sehajdharis have exposed the anti-panthic and anti minority face of the BJP allied NDA Govt. which has divided the Sikh minority on voting rights issue in the SGPC elections by making amendments in the Sikh Gurdwara Act through Parliament on the behest of the Shiromani Akali Dal Badal. He said that it was the agenda of the Anti-Sikh RSS led BJP which has created a sub-minority within the minority by doing so.
Dr.Ranu said that as per the records of the Gurdwara Election Commission in 2011 there were 4,19,586 keshdhari Sikh voters in Gurdaspur District and simultaneously an equal amount approximately 4.5 lakh Sehajdhari Sikhs were debarred from voting due to the Notification of the NDA led Union Govt. The SGPC voter list reveals that there were 38,097 Keshdhari Sikh voters in Batala constituency, 51,170 in Dera Baba Nanak, 53,412 in Dhariwal, 55,987 in Gurdaspur, 26,400 in Pathankot and an equal strength of Sehajdharis were not enrolled as voters in Dinna Nagar, Quadian, Fathehgarh Churian , Sujanpur and Bhoa. Now the majority of the Sikhs with Shorn hairs who are labeled as Patits and Sehajdhari Sikhs by these Akalidal and SGPC will get a chance to express their grievance through ballot against the BJP-Akali alliance.
