MULTI-PRONGED STRATEGY ADOPTED TO COMBAT CORONA VIRUS MORE EFFECTIVELY
Jalandhar, July 18 (wishavwarta):- The Deputy Commissioner Mr Ghanshyam Thori on Saturday said that the district administration is committed to saving every precious life from novel coronavirus in the district.
Reviewing current situation and Covid preparedness with officials from civil, health and police departments, Mr Thori said that the administration is focusing on the reducing case fatality rate by ensuring effective clinical management in the district.
Mr Thori said that under its multi-pronged strategy, the administration is carrying out intensive testing for early detection of patients in the containment and micro-containment zones, effective clinical management of the serious cases by bringing them to the hospital and putting them on the treatment early.
He said that infrastructure is already being strengthened in the district and Covid Care Centres (level 1-2 and 3) are being equipped with all essential medical facilities to ensure quality treatment to the patients.
He said that at present, Jalandhar has the lowest Case Fatality Rate (CFR) amongst the districts having more than 500 positive cases and is on 12th position overall in the state in CFR table.
Mr Thori asked the officers to do micro-management for identifying the localities from where the cases have been erupting in the district.
Deputy Commissioner Mr Ghanshyam Thori said that district administration is emphasizing a major focus on saving the precious life from the scourge of infection for which all of us have to join hands.
He said that all Covid deaths witnessed in Jalandhar either had co-morbid conditions or other ailments as per the analysis conducted by the district administration.
He said that the people must not get panicky as more cases were coming in the city due to aggressive testing by the administration.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the situation was totally under control in the district and people must come forward for the testing so that the timely detection and treatment can help to contain the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
However, he said that the district administration was fully geared up to meet any sort of exigency.
