Jalandhar, 13 October(Wishav Warta): In order to create awareness amongst the people on the issue of women empowerment and against exploitation of women, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Dr. Bhupinder Pal Singh today flagged off an awareness rally of students in the city under the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (BBBP) campaign.
Addressing the students before flagging off the rally from SD Phullarwan school, the ADC said that due to the concerted efforts of the state the message of BBBP campaign has spread to every nook and corner of the state, which has immensely benefitted the girls thereby paving way for their empowerment. He said that this was all the more important to ensure that the girls could live a life with dignity and pride. Dr. Bhupinder Pal also apprised the students about the rare feat of the girls in various fields.
The ADC said that it was a matter of great pride and satisfaction for all of us that in academic and other fields girls have outshined boys adding that now the girls were ahead of boys in many fields. He said BBBP campaign was a path breaking initiative which would certainly pave the way for women empowerment. Dr. Bhupinder Pal Singh said that the basic idea behind organizing such rallies was to ensure that students take this message back at their homes and further convey it to their parents, pears and relatives to apprise them about this campaign.
