Jalandhar, 27 September(Wishav Warta): Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhupinder Singh today exhorted the students to act as ambassadors of cleanliness and greenery to make Jalandhar a clean, green and pollution free city.
Addressing the students before flagging off a rally under Swachta Hi Sewa national sanitation campaign here at Sri Devi Sahai School, the Additional Deputy Commissioner said that the students need to come forward for maintaining cleanliness and greenery in the society and state. He said that every student must disseminate the message of cleaning their surroundings amongst the people to sensitise them about this key issue. Bhupinder Singh said that sustained efforts must be made by the students to spread the message of cleanliness in every nook and corner of the district, state and country.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner said that this campaign was very significant for creating awareness amongst the people to make the state and district clean and green. He said that this fortnight long program, from September 15 to October 2, was a humble but a step in right direction to sensitize the people about cleanliness of their surrounding areas. Mr. Bhupinder Singh called upon the students to disseminate the message of this campaign amongst people for their active support and cooperation, as no such effort could be successful without active public participation.
Earlier, the Principal of the school Raj Kumar Sharma welcomed the dignitaries to the campus. Later, the Additional Deputy Commissioner accompanied by school Principal and social activist Prof. Lakhbir Singh flagged off the rally.
