Jalandhar: Aam Aadmi Party Shahkot leader Dr Amarjit Singh Thind today joined Shiromani Akali Dal at Mehatpur. Thind joined SAD in presence of former deputy chief minister of Punjab and SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal.
This is a major setback for AAP ahead of Shahkot by-poll, Dr Amarjit Singh Thind who contested last year assembly elections on AAP ticket managed to get more than 40,000 votes where winning candidate SAD Ajit Singh Kohar got 46,913 and Congress runner-up Hardev Singh Laddi Sherowali managed second, acquiring 42,008 votes. With this, the AAP is looking out of options from Shahkot assembly seat by-poll.
