New Delhi, December 03, The Shiromani Akali Dal-BJP MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa today said that inaction of the AAP government led by Arvind Kejriwal in curbing environment pollution was responsible for the Nation’s embarrassment at International level during the ongoing India-Sri Lanka Cricket Test Match today.
In a statement Sirsa said that it was total failure of the Kejriwal government on curbing the pollution in National Captial as it preferred not to spend a single paisa out of Rs. 700 crore environment cess it has accumulated from the taxpayers money. He said that had this government taken preventive or corrective measures on time and spent this money for solution of pollution problem, the country could have been saved from the embarrassment it faced today when the Sri lankan players complained on the pollution today. He said that it was most shameful for the nation as Sri lankan players played wearing masks and at a point of time they even refused to play complained to their board which took up the matter with BCCI.
Sirsa said that though he had taken up the matter with the LG who had ordered sprinkling of water by the tankers and even had sought daily compliance report, it was complete failure of the Kejriwal Government who even failed to take preventive measure keeping in view ongoing match in Delhi. He said that this government was duty bound to do the needful to save the players from such pollution but it preferred to remain mum.
Sirsa said that people of the country particularly of Delhi are now convinced that this government only believes in blame game and has nothing to do with the pro people initiatives. He said that as the Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh elections are drawing to close it has once again started blaming the EVMs but has forgot to take action on pollution in Delhi. He said that if he had taken action on development issues and curbing pollution during the last two and a half years in Government he would not have required to tell lies to the people of the Gujarat and Srilankan players would not have to wear masks for playing in Delhi.
He appealed Kejriwal to shun his policy of inaction and take initiatives to spend the public money over Rs. 700 crores collected as environment cess to save the people of Delhi and VIPs coming to national capital from pollution.
