…People of Punjab impressed with AAP’s policies, work for farmers: Harpal Singh Cheema
Kapurthala, January 17, 2021 ( wishavwarta)-Due to the work being done by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for the people of Punjab, the convoy of the party is getting bigger day by day. The party on Sunday gained a major boost when several BJP leaders joined AAP in the presence of senior party leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Punjab Legislative Assembly, Harpal Singh Cheema. The leaders who joined AAP in Kapurthala left the BJP in protest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s atrocities on the country’s ‘annadatas’. On the other hand, they joined AAP, after being impressed by the work done by Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government and the Aam Aadmi Party for the farmers as ‘sevadars’.
Kapurthala’s district minority morcha vice president Balwinder Singh, district president Ravi Sidhu, general secretary Gaurav Khanna, district vice-president Gobind Singh, circle block president Sunny, district vice president Mohinder Singh, circle secretary BJP Punjab Jaspreet Singh, district vice-president Kuldeep Singh, block vice president Ramandeep Singh, severing ties with the BJP; joined the Aam Aadmi Party. Besides, Davinderpal Singh, a social worker and former Constable from Dasuya in Hoshiarpur district, Harmesh Kumar, Congress member, Subhash Tarikha, social worker and Congress member, Harpreet Singh, BSP member, Satnam Singh, BSP Member, Rajinder Singh and Baljit Singh, chairman Rangarat Dal from Majitha, also joined the Aam Aadmi Party.
The leaders who joined the AAP said that today when the farmers were being persecuted by the Modi-led central government and when false accusations were being made to suppress the farmers’ movement; at that time, the entire Aam Aadmi Party, including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his government, stood shoulder to shoulder with the farmers. The leaders further said that the AAP was working as a ‘sevadar’ for the farmers and impressed by their work, they joined the party.
The leaders said that whatever responsibility would be given to them by the party, they would work diligently to strengthen the party. Congratulating those who joined the party, Harpal Singh Cheema said that the party would be stronger with the hard work of the leaders. He said that the ever increasing convoy of AAP was putting a stamp on the work being done by the party for the people.
