*AAP gets boost, several personalities joins party*
*..People of Punjab being influenced by work, policies of AAP – Jarnail Singh/Harpal Cheema*
*Chandigarh, January 18, 2021( Wishavwarta )-Impressed with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) direct stand in favour of all the sections including farmers, labourers and small traders; the party’s family has been steadily growing. The party got a major boost on Monday when several prominent personalities from different districts joined AAP along with their associates, in the presence of party’s Punjab in-charge and MLA from Delhi, Jarnail Singh and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Punjab Legislative Assembly Harpal Singh Cheema, here at the party headquarters.
The leaders joined AAP, after being impressed by the work done by Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government and the Aam Aadmi Party for the farmers as ‘sevadars’ and for their pro-people policies.
Manjinder Singh Bhullar from Ferozepur, a lawyer at the Punjab and Haryana High Court, who was involved in many social activities while studying Law at Panjab University and served as the chairman of National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), joined the AAP. Bhullar has been running various campaigns against the drug menace in Punjab and currently organising ‘SpeakUpPunjab’ campaign to press the government to bring white paper on Power Purchase Agreements, liquor and other mafias flourishing in the state. He had also organised a pedestrian march of 225 kilometres on foot from Hussainiwala Martyr embark to CM residence in Chandigarh for 7 days against the drug menace in Punjab. Even now, he is actively participating in the farmers’ movement and has been working for the farmers at Tikri and Singhu border.
Besides, Harjit Singh from Jalalabad constituency in Fazilka district, who has been a former three-time Zila Parishad Member and former vice-president of District Congress, being fed up with the anti-people policies of the Congress, joined AAP.
Sukhminder Singh Sran from Malout assembly constituency, Muktsar, who has been the media secretary at Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee and state vice-chairman, Punjab National Rajiv Gandhi Brigade (Congress), joined AAP along with his associates Prakash Sran, Punjabi Folk Singer, Kuldeep Singh Bhangcharhi, vice chairman, Punjab Electro Homeopathy Welfare Society, Kashmir Singh, senior Akali leader and Dr Jasveer Singh Pannu, former vice chairman of Punjab Lab Association.
Meanwhile, prominent social worker from Derabassi in Mohali district, Anjum Chaudhary, with several associates from Derabassi and Zirakpur, joined the party. The associates include Prem Sharma, Anjali Chaudhary, Neetu Singh, Vinay Kumar, Rajan Sharma and Raman Khosla. Welcoming all the leaders who joined the party, AAP Punjab incharge Jarnail Singh, said that a large number of people were joining the party on a daily basis. He said that due to the commendable work being done by Arvind Kejriwal-led government in Delhi in the field of health and education, people were leaning towards AAP.
Congratulating those who joined the party, Harpal Singh Cheema said that a large number of people from all over the state were joining AAP to create a new Punjab. He said that the party would be stronger with the hard work of the leaders and the ever increasing convoy of the party was putting a stamp on the work being done by AAP for the people. The leaders who joined the AAP, said that whatever responsibility would be given to them, they would work diligently to strengthen the party. On the occasion, Amarjit Singh Sandoya, MLA from Ropar, state general secretary Harchand Singh Barsat, state treasurer Neena Mittal, among other party leaders were also present.
