Chandigarh, 2 October(Wishav Warta): Sukhpal Singh Khaira Leader of Opposition congratulated Jagmeet Singh on his elevation as Leader of NDP in Canada yesterday in a statement released on Monday. Khaira said Jagmeet Singh stood a very bright chance to become Prime Minister of Canada in 2019 general elections. Khaira said Jagmeet Singh has done the Indians, Punjabi’s and the Sikhs proud by becoming the leader of a political party in a developed country like Canada. Khaira further said that his well deserved victory in a four cornered contest securing more than 53 percent of the votes polled, showed his ability as the upcoming leader of Canada. Jagmeet Singh a 38 years old lawyer is a mix of youthfulness and maturity, said Khaira.
Khaira LoP also saluted the transparent and meritorious system of Canada, where people get to choose their leader instead of a “high command” culture prevalent in our country. Khaira also saluted the citizens of Canada particularly the white people who have reposed faith in a Punjabi Sikh immigrant like Jagmeet Singh, who hardly constitute any percentage of population in their country.
Lastly Khaira extended an open invitation to Jagmeet Singh to visit his home state of Punjab, as people are awaiting for his warm welcome.
