Shahkot: Aam Aadmi Party has announced Ratan Singh Kakkarkala as candidate for the Shahkot assembly bye-election. It is to be mentioned that the voting will be held on May 28 for the by-election of Shahkot assembly and on May 31 the counting of votes will be done.
At a meeting of the party’s Punjab unit held on Saturday, a consensus had been arrived at on the name of Rattan Singh Kakkarkalan. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of party’s Punjab affairs in-charge and deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodiya.
Ratan Singh Kakkarka is a farmer by profession and has been associated with AAP for the last four years.
While Congress party has announced Hardev Singh Ladi as the candidate, the Akali Dal has already announced the name of late Ajit Singh Kohar’s son Naib Singh Kohar as it’s candidate. The assembly seat has been vacant due to the death of Ajit Singh Kohar.
