Chandigarh, 19 September(Wishav Warta): A high-level joint delegation of Shiromani Akali Dal and Bharatiya Janata Party led by BJP President and Minister of State, Government of India, Sh. Vijay Sampla will meet the Chief Election Commission of India in Delhi tomorrow to demand high-level independent inquiry and immediate cancellation of false cases registered against the large number of senior leaders of Shiromani Akali Dal belonging to district Gurdaspur. The Shiromani Akali Dal will be represented by S. Balwinder Singh Bhunder, Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra, Sh. Naresh Gujral (all members of Parliament), S. Maheshinder Singh Grewal General Secretary and Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, former cabinet Minister and secretary & spokesman SAD. From BJP side Sh. Madan Mohan Mittal, Former Cabinet Minister, Sh. Shavet Malik, Member Parliament and Sh. Ashwani Kumar, Former State President, BJP will also join the delegation.
In a statement released at the Party Head Office in Chandigarh, the SAD Secretary and Spokesman Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema said that two false FIR’s have been registered on 20.08.2017/21.08.2017. The first FIR No 58 dated 20.08.2017 registered at police station Tibber District Gurdaspur. This FIR has registered against S. Sucha Singh Langh, S. Sewa Singh Sekhwan former Ministers, S. Sukhbir Singh Walha , Chairman Sugar fed Punjab, Sh. Des Raj Dhuga Former Chief parliament Secretary, besides other leadrs of the party such as S. Parmbir Singh lady, S. Ratan Singh, Sh Ravinder Singh Rana and S. Tarsem Singh Nihang. This FIR also refers to 250/300 unidentified persons. The Second FIR No 057 was registered on 21.08.2017 at police station Bhaini Miana Khan, District Gurdaspur this FIR includes the names of S. Sucha Singh Langh, S. Sewa Singh Sekhwan former Ministers, Master Gurnam Singh, Kawalpreet Singh, Parmbir Singh, Gurinder Singh, Iqbal Singh laddi, Lal Sarpanch, Sukhdev Singh Sarpanch, Avtar Singh, Kulwinder Singh, Pala Sarpanch Kahnuwal, Sarbjit Singh, Balwinder Singh, Sukhjinder Singh, Chanchal Singh, Amarjit Singh, Gurnam Singh, Hardeep Singh, Gurpartap Singh, Dilbag Singh, Gurmail and 250 unidentified persons.
Dr. Cheema said that all these leaders have been booked on the direction of ruling Congress Party as a deep rooted conspiracy so as to arrest these leaders at the time of election campaign for Gurdaspur Parliament Bye Election. All the leaders simply accompanied the Jathedar Takht Sri Akal Takhat Sahib, Giani Gurbachan Singh to “Gurdawara Chhota Ghallughara” on the day of sacrilege of the Gurdawara Shaib by the President of Congress supported management committee of the Gurdwara.
Dr. Cheema further said that on one hand the local police administration committed a blunder by stopping the Jathedar Sri Akal Takht Sahib from performing his religious duty and on the other hand they booked the Akali leaders in a large number of fake cases without any violation of law of any kind.
The delegation will apprise the Commission of the ulterior motives of the ruling Congress party which has got all false cases registered against Akali leaders, so as to keep them away from election campaign by arresting them during campaign.
Dr. Cheema said that all facts will be brought in to the notice of CEC and a written memorandum will also be submitted jointly by both the parties. We will demand an independent inquiry by the CEC and immediate cancellation of both the FIR’s as well as action against the officers who have registered false FIR’s against the Akali leaders in malafide manner to please their political bosses. We will also demand immediate transfer of all erring officers outside the Gurdaspur Parliament Constituency for conduct of free and fair election.
