Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh assured strict action against the accused in Ludhiana gangrape case after the issue was raised in Punjab Assembly on the second day of Budget session on Wednesday. He said that he would request Chief Justice to put Ludhiana gang rape case in fast track.
While Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders raised the issue raising questions on law and order situation of the state. It was informed that three out of six accused were arrested and the remaining culprits would be nabbed soon.
A 20-year-old girl from Ludhiana and her friend were returning from Sarabha Nagar market late on Saturday when their car was allegedly intercepted near Issewal by three accused. The girl alleged that she was gangraped and her friend was assaulted. The accused allegedly demanded Rs 1 lakh.
