New Delhi: Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee is stable and will continue to be hospitalised till his infection is controlled, said Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Tuesday.
“He is responding to treatment and is on injectable antibiotics. All vital parameters are stable,” said AIIMS in a statement. Vajpayee, 93, was admitted to AIIMS for a urinary tract infection Monday and is under “investigation and evaluation”.
Vajpayee is under the care of a team of doctors headed by AIIMS director Dr Randeep Guleria, a pulmonologist. The team also includes nephrologist Dr Soumita Bagchi, cardiac surgeon Dr SK Chaudhary, and gastroenterologist Dr Pramod Garg.
PM Narendra Modi, Congress president Rahul Gandhi and BJP president Amit Shah visited Vajpayee Monday.
