Nurpur: A bus carrying school students fell into a gorge near Nurpur in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh on Monday evening. Driver and the 15 students are feared dead. Reportedly, about 35 students were travelling on the bus.
The bus belonged to Vazir Ram Singh Memorial Public School.
A confirmation of the casualties in the accident is awaited from local authorities. Though the officials’ team led by SDM, Nurpur and the local police reached the spot to carry out and supervise the rescue operation, the death toll may rise.
Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh has ordered a magisterial enquiry.
The driver of the bus and seven students died on the spot as per information. The critically injured mishap victims were referred to the hospital at Tanda.
Chief Minister has condoled the deaths of the students in the tragic mishap. He has directed the Food and Civil Supplies Minister Kishan Kapoor to rush to the spot and supervise the rescue operations.
