Jalandhar, SEPT 2, The Jalandhar Commissionerate Police today nabbed the kingpin of dreaded Bhalu gang along with five members. Police were looking him from a long time he is wanted in many cases including serious cases of attempt to murder. In the past police laid many traps but he managed to escape but finally today notorious gangster was nabbed by police in Jalandhar. The connection of Bhalu gang with top wanted gangster Gurpreet Sekhon alias Gounder has also been inspected during the investigation.
Divulging the details, the Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar, Parveen Sinha said the notorious gangster Gursharan Singh alias Bhalu who was wanted by police in around 10 cases was arrested by police on a tip off. He said district police has registered many cases against this gangster including that of attempt to murder. The modus operandi of the gang was to extort money from people by spreading terror. Sinha said that the gang build by him known as ‘Bhalu gang’ was involved in series of heinous offences. he said during the assembly elections Bhalu and his accomplices has attacked their rival Pancham, the intention was to kill him but Pancham survived. Bhalu gang was again trying to eliminate him, for which they were on continuously carrying out recce. The gangster was continuously shifting the locations to give a miss to police whom they were trying to nab he said. The commissioner said to nab this gangster a team was constituted under DCP Rajinder Singh and AIG STF Mukhwinder Singh with ACP Manpreet Singh Dhillon, Inspector, Barjinder Singh, SHO Gurpreet Singh and SI’s Sukhjinder Singh and Major Singh. he said on a
The gangster was continuously shifting the locations to give a miss to police whom they were trying to nab he said. The commissioner said to nab this gangster a team was constituted under DCP Rajinder Singh and AIG STF Mukhwinder Singh with ACP Manpreet Singh Dhillon, Inspector, Barjinder Singh, SHO Gurpreet Singh and SI’s Sukhjinder Singh and Major Singh. he said on a tip off the special team cordoned off area at Subhana Chowk when they spotted Honda City Car coming from Subhana towards city. Police asked to stop the car, but Bhalu tried to flee away, Polie party chased the car and nabbed Bhalu and his accomplice Manmohan Singh alias Manu Dhaba. Two pistols, 3 magazines and 11 cartridges were recovered from their possession.
During the investigation, they named other four members of the gang. accused were identified as Manmohan Singh alias Manu Dhaba resident of Dhan Mohalla, Jalandhar, Harjeet Singh alias Happy resident of Ajit Nagar, Kapurthala, Paramjot Singh alias Bhau resident of village Nurpur, Jalandhar, Mohit Gupta resident of Nurpur Village and Vishal Sharma resident of Mahendru Mohalla. All the accused are facing criminal cases against them. The weapons recovered from the accused were are said to same weapons used in Pancham case.
