Chandigarh, May 2( Wishavwarta)-The Government agencies and private Traders have procured 549091 metric tonnes of wheat in Punjab on 19th day of procurement.
Disclosing this here today, an official Spokesperson said that out of the total 549091 procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 545136 MT of wheat 3955 MT has been procured by the private traders (arhtyias).
He further said that PUNGRAIN has procured 120373 metric tonnes, MARKFED 120322 metric tonnes and PUNSUP procured 111911 metric tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation 95124 MT wheat respectively. The Centre government agancy FCI has procured 64694 MT wheat. Apart from this Pungrain Procured 32712 MT wheat for public distribution in the Punjab.
Progressive procurement by all the procuring agency is 9143643 MT.
