New Delhi, 23 August: The Central Government has launched an app by which you will be able to pay on toll plaza in any part of the country. One lane in every toll plaza will be a dedicated FASTag lane where no other form of payment will be accepted.
Under the Fast Tag Scheme, Government of India launched Mobile App called ‘Loadlink’. Prem Singh Chandumajra, Akali Dal MP from Anandpur Sahib, started the FastTag App (load link) in Chandigarh on Monday.
It has been implemented on 371 toll plazas across the country. Vehicle owners paying through this app will also get a benefit of 7.5 percent discount. To avail this, the consumer will have to open an online account under the fast tag scheme. After opening the account, a tag will be inserted on the vehicle’s mirror. This tag will scan the system tag when the vehicle passes from toll plaza and the payment will be automatically deducted from an account.
After the toll tax is deducted, the vehicle owner will receive the message immediately. There will be no expiry date for the Fast Tag. The vehicle owner will be able to recharge it like a mobile SIM card. It can also be recharged through online payment.
It is expected that these initiatives for improving the availability and access to FASTags will encourage more and more people to buy them. The app can be downloaded from the App Store for both Android and iOS systems. A consumer can purchase or recharge FASTags on this App. The App also helps to keep track of transactions.
