Jalandhar, 6 September(Wishav Warta): In a step aimed to enhance the representation of the city youth in officers’ cadre of the Armed forces especially the Indian Air Force (IAF) the district administration has decided to organise special seminars from September 8-12 for students to apprise them about the avenues and recruitment process in the force.
Divulging the details Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma these seminars would be held at CT Group of Institutes on September 8-9, in Lovely Professional University on September 11 and in DAVIET. He said that in these seminars, being organised by District Bureau of Employment generation and training, high officers from the
Air Head Quarter of Indian Air Force, New Delhi would apprise the students about this challenging field. Sharma said that these officers would also bring Indian Publicity Exhibition Vehicle (IPEV) to give better understanding to the students through audio-visual
aids.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the sole aim of organising these seminars was to ensure better representation of the youth of the district in officer cadre of the Indian Air Force. He said that the youth of district were having lot of potential to excel in any field and these seminars would help in grooming them for serving the nation by joining the Armed Forces. Sharma said that any students desirous of attending these seminars could simply walk in and attend the seminars as per the above mentioned schedule.
The Deputy Commissioner envisioned that these seminars would act as a catalyst to ensure that more and more youth from the region join the IAF as officers and serve the country. “This is an unprecedented event and the youth must take benefit from it to live a life with dignity and pride” he added.
