Panchkula, 16 September: The Ramchandra, Ranjit murder case hearing has been adjourned till 22 Sept against Dera Sirsa chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim. The court will decide on September 22 whether Khatta Singh will give the statement or not. A former driver of Ram Rahim, Khatta Singh has made many disclosures against Ram Rahim, but according to Khatta Singh, he had changed his statement under pressure and now he is ready to give a further statement.
The hearing was started in Panchkula’s CBI court regarding two murder cases against Gurmeet Ram Rahim. Ram Rahim is accused of killing a Journalist Ramchandra Chattrapati and former Dera supporter Ranjit Singh.The same judge has heard the case that has sentenced the Dera chief to 20 years of imprisonment. Anshul Chhatrapati claimed, “After getting the punishment of rape, now we are hopeful that the decision will come in our favor along with day-to-day hearing in the court.”
Punjab and Haryana High Court had filed the case of journalist Ramchandra Chhatrapati and murder of Ranjit Singh in 2003 and also ordered for CBI inquiry. CBI in July 2007 had filed the charge sheet in both murder cases.The hearing of this case has started through the video conferencing from Sunaria Jail, Rohtak. High alerts have been declared in the entire state as a precaution. State Director General BS Sandhu on Friday conduct a special meeting for preparations for security, from which orders have been issued from Panchkula Court to the maintain the security of Sunaria jail.
