Chandigarh, December 19: The Punjab and Haryana High Court today convened a Full Court Reference to condole the sad demise of noted jurist and legal luminary Justice Surinder Sarup, former Judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court. All the judges of High Court took part in this full court reference.
While sharing the grief with the family of late Justice Surinder Sarup, the Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court Justice Shiavax Jal Vazifdar said that the services rendered by Justice Surinder Sarup would ever be remembered. He said that Justice Sarup was a symbol of simplicity, dedication and commitment and was also known for his high professional caliber. He described the sad demise of Sarup as a huge loss to the legal fraternity as he was a great source of inspiration for the professionals of the legal field.
The other dignitaries, who paid tributes to the departed soul included Chetan Mittal, Assistant Solicitor General of India, Manjri Nehru Kaul, Additional Advocate General, Punjab, Baldev Raj Mahajan, Advocate General, Haryana, Vijendar Singh Ahlawat, Chairman, Bar Council Of Punjab & Haryana, Chandigarh, and Ravinder Singh Randhawa, Secretary, Punjab & Haryana, Bar Association, Chandigarh.
The retired judges of Punjab and Haryana High Court, family members of Justice Surinder Sarup and members of the bar council of Punjab and Haryana and Bar Association of High Court were also present in condolence meeting.
