Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and Speaker of Punjab Vidhan Sabha has extended warm greetings to the people of Punjab on the auspicious occasion of ‘Mahashivratri’, with a call to celebrate the festival in a spirit of brotherhood and harmony.
In his message, the Chief Minister urged the people to set aside all differences and come together to celebrate the pious occasion with the vow to promote goodwill and bonhomie.
Captain Amarinder exhorted the people to use this religious occasion to create a positive environment for the collective good of all mankind by following the path shown by Lord Shiva – the destroyer of evil.
Let us all, on this day, pledge to fight for good over the evil forces that are increasingly threatening to destroy humanity, said the Chief Minister.
In his message, Rana KP Singh said that Maha Shivratri has both religious and cultural importance. The Speaker has observed that this festival symbolizes the values of piety, devotion, brotherhood and harmony, which are the hallmarks of our glorious cultural ethos.
Wishing the people a happy Maha Shivratri, Rana KP Singh has prayed for peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
