Chandigarh: Sri Akal Takhts Sahib Jathedar Jagtar Singh Hawara’s 7-member advisory committee convened a press conference in a hotel here on Saturday in which the committee referred citing the note issued by Jathedar Jagtar Singh Hawara said Hawara is backing the ongoing action to build the World Sikh Parliament (WSP) and said that it should be made with the consent of all Sikhs in the world so that the idea of all Sikhs could be included in this Parliament. A 150-member World Sikh Parliament will be constituted by November 25 under the patronage of Sarbat Khalsa-appointed Akal Takht Jathedar Jagtar Singh Hawara.
All the 150 members to be incorporated in the first stage will be from the Sikhs residing outside India. The proposed world Sikh body will have total 300 members including 150 from India. The blueprint of this global forum was being drafted by Hawara for last three years. A 15-member coordination committee has already been formed which would be dissolved after incorporating the proposed 150 members, they added.
The 7-member advisory committee has members from Punjab. They include Hawara’s chief spokesperson Amar Singh Chahal, Harminder Singh, Bagicha Singh Ratta Khera, Gurcharan Singh, Balbir Singh, Baljit Singh Khalsa Amritsar, and Harpreet Singh Rana Fatehgarh Sahib.
The World Sikh Parliament will be run under the patronage of Shri Akal Takhat Sahib, representing the Sikhs of the entire world, it will be joint central body of the parties.
