Jalandhar(Wishav Warta): In a big reprieve to the students of Red Cross School for Deaf and Dumb, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma today said that the students completing their schooling from this institute would be suitably employed by the Industrial giants of the district.
Addressing the gathering during Sports Day meet of the Red Cross Deaf and Dumb school here today, the Deputy Commissioner said that the industrialists led by General Secretary of Jalandhar Chamber of Industries and Commerce Charanjit Singh Maingi had come forward for this philanthropic cause. He said that industrialists have decided to employ the students of this school, who have attained 18 years of age, after they pass out from this institute. Mr. Sharma said that this would be a big relief to the students as it would ensure their livelihood, so as to live their life with dignity and pride.
The Deputy Commissioner said that it was a welcome step which would go a long way in safeguarding the interests of these students. He said that the sports meet in this school was a way to imbibe a spirit of self confidence amongst the students. Sharma said that such event also help in making the students active and smart, which would be of immense importance to them in their future life.
The Deputy Commissioner also hailed the office bearers of NGO Samarparan, who had played an instrumental role in organizing the event. Sharma said that these students were happy at very few occasions adding that he was thankful to Samparan for bringing smiles on innocent faces of the children. He assured fulsome support and cooperation to the NGO for this noble cause.
Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner, accompanied by Secretary Red Cross Paramjeet Singh and Principal of Red School for Deaf PN Sharma, distributed prizes to the students.
