Panchkula, 4 October(Wishav Warta): Panchkula court sends Honeypreet in 6-days police custody, However Haryana police were demanding 14-days custody. Honeypreet Insan, the “adopted daughter” of jailed Dera Sacha Sauda sect chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, was arrested on Tuesday was presented before the court along with a woman. The other woman was identified as Sukhdeep Kaur who was arrested with her yesterday. When asked by the court she pleaded to the court that she is not involved in violence or any other activity after the conviction of Ram Rahim.
The prosecution had demanded 14-day remand, calling her “the closest aide” of the Dera chief. It said that Honeypreet was aware of the activities of the sect and the violence unleashed by its followers in parts of Haryana, Punjab and Delhi, after the conviction of Ram Rahim , that left 38 people dead and 264 injured. This was opposed by Honeypreet’s defence counsel.
